In this video titled ‘Beyond the pain scale: Identifying patient at risk of undertreatment,’ Assoc Prof Dr Miguel A. Ruiz Ibán provided insights on the burden of chronic pain, the various causes of inadequate pain relief (IPR), as well as the management strategies of chronic musculoskeletal pain and IPR. He also stressed that cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors are ideal candidates of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for managing IPR, with a particular emphasis on the advantages demonstrated by etoricoxib.
